Cycling tours around Domaine Le Castelet in Tarn

"I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike..."

If you like mountain biking and rolling green countryside, you’ll be spoilt for choice: Tarn is teeming with cycling trails.

A cycling holiday is perfect for discovering hidden treasures off the beaten track, getting some exercise at your own pace, enjoying nature – without polluting it – and breathing in fresh, clean air.

There are a number of routes of varying difficulty around our bed & breakfast, all of which are ideal for exploring the natural and cultural splendours near Castres: lakes, forests, ancient villages, museums, and much more.

Here are our suggested cycling routes around our bed & breakfast:

Human Rights Trail

Following the old railway line between Albi and Castres, this is a pleasant, shady route with gentle gradients.

Massif du Sidobre Trail

This hike is ideal both in summer, when you can escape from the heat in the shade of the trees, and in autumn when you can admire the beautiful colours of the leaves.

The Lake Route Trail

A great adventure in wild, unspoilt countryside for advanced cyclists.

Around Noailhac

This 25-km loop covers part of the Santiago di Compostela route.

When you get back, you can relax in the pool or in the sauna, have a massage or jacuzzi then enjoy a delicious, hearty meal and have a much-deserved rest in the comfortable beds at our bed & breakfast or luxury self-catering accommodation.

Head towards Toulouse via the Canal du Midi, towards Albi via the Human Rights Trail or towards Béziers along the Passa Pais

At Domaine Le Castelet, we can provide you with:

  • A shed to keep your bike in
  • A repair kit
  • A hearty meal

And there are a number of bike shops just 5 km away in Castres.
